HER FIGHT IS OUR FIGHT: LET'S HELP CLARISSA JOHN

Donation protected
I am raising money for a dear friend and a true HELPER, Clarissa John. On Friday, February 26, Clarissa was life flighted to UNM Hospital in Albuquerque where she was later diagnosed with a brain tumor.  Symptoms came on very quickly, starting with a headache and progressing to speech and balance issues.  This week she is undergoing a variety of tests, and we are hoping she will have surgery on Monday, March 8th.  Most of her medical expenses will be covered by insurance.  We are raising money to help sustain her and her daughter Deidra during her healing and recovery time and to help her out of town family with housing in Albuquerque so they may be there with her (could be three weeks or longer). Clarissa has a long road to recovery; anything helps.  If you can't afford to donate financially, send her a text or a card.   We will be setting up meals once she is out of the hospital.

In case you don't know Clarissa, here is some information from Chief Richards of the San Juan County Fire Department.

Clarissa started her fire service career as a volunteer firefighter in February of 2015. She joined San Juan County Fire Department (SJCFD) District 13 in Newcomb, NM. Soon after joining she attended and completed the fire academy. When the Newcomb station changed hands from San Juan County Fire Department to Navajo Nation Fire Department in 2016, Clarissa still had a desire to continue serving the community as a volunteer with SJCFD.

Over the past few years, Clarissa has volunteered with several fire districts around San Juan County, and most recently is part of the Multi-District Response Crew (MDRC) program that serves larger areas than just the individual districts of SJCFD.  Clarissa has been a valuable part of that team for the last two years and has served her community well, responding to about 350 calls for service per year.  In order for her to continue volunteering with the MDRC Clarissa drives over an hour from Newcomb to Bloomfield, and back, on an almost daily basis. Clarissa’s dedication to the fire service and the community is a testament to her character. She has touched the lives of hundreds, if not thousands, throughout San Juan County; and most of them will never even know about it.

Clarissa really needs our help right now.  This health crisis came on suddenly and no one had any time to prepare.  Please help if you can and SHARE, SHARE, SHARE.
